Artist Statement
I often times end up discovering memories and emotions in my subconscious mind that I didn’t know were there until they make themselves present in my work.
Often, my work leaves questions unanswered. It can sometimes make people uncomfortable, and almost always makes me uncomfortable. When I can evoke emotions in viewers, whether happiness, sadness, anger, or anything in between, I feel I have accomplished something.
I use myself to create my work. I dig deep into my past and my emotional experiences in order to achieve my vision. Often times my work leaves me raw and vulnerable, however, it helps me to face my demons and turn them into something beautiful. If I could make one person realize that they can accomplish the same, than it is all worth it.
